Sleeping Beauty is staged for the Regency era in this beautiful paper toy theatre kit. Reproduced from the Pollock's Toy Museum archive, it is provided as a booklet containing everything you need to cut out and construct your miniature stage, scene and characters, ready to perform the play at home.
Once you have made up your toy theatre model, slot in the atmospheric backdrops and drop in your cast, including Sleeping Beauty, the Fairy Queen, Baron Sprout and more, and follow the included script to put on your magical fairy-tale show.
Adapted and designed by Peter Jackson from the original printed toy theatre proscenium arch stage, scenery and characters, published by J. K. Green on December 26th 1850.
This toy theatre is for children and adults alike but children may need an adult's help. It arrives flat-packed and requires cutting, gluing, and a little patience during construction. You will need fast-drying glue and scissors (or a craft knife for adults) to complete your model.
The Museum's website also provides a free PDF giving further instructions to support you in making your Regency Toy Theatre and a video with tips on performing a toy theatre show.
